North America	US	Los Angeles / Long Beach	7 Dec 2022 - Empty container return restrictions still in effect and can change quickly. Chassis equipment for all sizes still in short supply. Discharged units still going to undeliverable areas and not available for collection. Trucking queues often prevent drivers from pulling loads during allotted appointment times - if the appointment window expires, truckers will need to secure a new appointment. Shortage of chassis and gensets and it is difficult to secure appointments to return empties. Additional charges can occur if container cannot be picked up and or returned within the allotted free time. The Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach Container Dwell Fee is on hold until Dec 16, 2022. This is separate from individual terminal dwell fee agreements on long dwelling units. Long Beach is removing the weekend exemption for free time effective September 1st, 2022. Free time will be inclusive of Saturdays and Sundays (except on legal holidays) when a container terminal in Long Beach is open on either of those days.

In addition there will be an overtime ban from Sunday Dec 18, 2022 to Jan 4, 2023.; Alternative routing via road transport will be limited by capacity and could incur additional costs.

Oceania	New Zealand	Blenheim / Nelson	28 Nov 2022 Export container flows are still very much impacted for shipments from New Zealand's south island after flooding damaged roadways. Flooding now in Marlborough and road closures are creating longer trucking routes and causing delays. Repairs are underway on the main highway between Nelson and Blenheim, SH6. Traffic is being re-routed which will add to the transit time and incur additional trucking charges due to heavily reduced capacity. Plan for delays for packing, fitting and trucking from this area.

This ends the current industrial action at the port terminals. Transnet is prioritizing urgent and sensitive cargo and implementing recovery plans to address the backlog. Continue to expect residual disruption in cargo movements and additional origin handling charges for shipments from/to South Africa.
